Investigate the efforts and comments of TN Governor Bill Haslam to stop Volkswagen from voting on forming a union.

TN Governor Bill Haslam is continuing to try and deter the Volkswagen Chattanooga plant from conducting a vote on whether to join the United Auto Workers labor union. His recent remarks ahead of the planned vote on Feb. 12 to Feb. 14. reflected an attempt to tie further job creation to the vote on joining the union. Haslam said, " I think there are some ramifications to the vote in terms of our ability to attract other suppliers." Comments such as these could easily be construed as an attempt at manipulating Volkswagen leaders and intimidating the employee vote. Ultimately, the issue isn't around whether or not you are in favor of union organizing but whether a governor, any governor, can use his executive power to influence the will of a private sector employer.
