Its important because it violated the Hatch Act and influenced votes in the Presidential Election of 2016.FBI director Comey reopened the email case on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.Because of this the Electoral College(Dec) could be challenged.If this affected the popular vote it affects the Electoral college results for every State.
