Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia's opposition leader was sentenced on February 10th 2015 for trumped up sodomy charges against him as the Malaysian government's attempt to destroy his political career.
The White House has recently expressed disappointment over the verdict as well as other nations such as Canada and the EU.
But statements are insufficient. The United States must investigate the facts and evidence surrounding Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy case and release their findings to the Malaysian people as well as the international community at every way possible. This will be the best opportunity for Anwar Ibrahim's release as well as the Malaysian people's opportunity for a democracy in Malaysia.
