The Hatch Act prohibits FBI Officials, from using their official authority to influence an election. Comey's vaguely worded letter to Congress reopening the investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails, only days before the Election, had a clear and measurable influence on the Presidential Election. His action was taken against the explicit guidance of the Justice Department. (Memo from Deputy Attorney General Yates, 3/10/16). The integrity of the FBI and the Election has been compromised by his actions.
The American People deserve a full and transparent investigation of Comey's actions and prosecution in the event of wrong doing. The investigation should also include the possible partisan withholding of information regarding Russian ties with Donald Trump and his advisors.
