As Speaker of the House, Representative John Boehner had complete power to reverse the October, 2013, US government shutdown at any time. His refusal to do so, despite pressure from all branches of government, as well as US citizens and the international community, could not be explained, except by his desire to reverse the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare," or the ACA). As the ACA had already been vetted by the US Supreme Court and approved more than 40 times by Congress, Boehner's actions were selfish and morally reprehensible, and physically and economically injured millions of Americans, including government employees and those dependent on social support, such as WIC.
On these grounds, we demand that Rep. John Boehner and his actions be investigated for Treason.
