During the 2012 tax season, H&R Block's handling of tax returns with Form 8863 has been less than professional. It was their actions, mistakes and incompetencies that have caused over 600,000 hard working, tax paying citizens, from receiving the refund that is rightfully theirs, in a timely fashion.
By signing this petition, we are asking the government to take action and hold H&R Block responsible for this delay. As a company that is relied upon to present the information provided by their clients directly to the IRS, we feel that the lack of preparation for the 2012 tax season is a serious infraction. One that should be investigated.
When a company works directly with the IRS, they should be held to stricter standards, noting the severe penalties for tax infractions for citizens.
