Judge Jerri Collins was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush in 2005. She has been accused of giving too much legal advice from the bench and obvious bias in cases in which she refused to recuse herself.
Most recently, she lashed out at a mother who was unable to appear in court due to her anxiety due to the violence the defendant inflicted on her. Not only did Judge Collins scoff at the victim, she said, "You think you know anxiety? You haven't even seen anxiety". She then held the victim in "Contempt of Court" and sentenced this poor, distraught mother to three days in the county jail.
There have been no repercussions from Governor Bush, recall petitions, or resignations. I wish there to be an official investigation into her misconduct. Please, We the People, Lets stand up for victims.
