Investigate the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Comcast and Verizon which encourages monopoly behavior

Created by A.M. on December 27, 2012

While Comcast and Verizon have agreed essentially to avoid expanding into each other's markets, many American consumers face rising service rates for wired telecommunications. Combined with subpar customer service and lower bandwidth speeds than other developed nations, this development puts Americans of all walks of life at a disadvantage in the digital age. With even less concerns about potential competitors, the quality of wired services will deteriorate further. The Obama administration should revisit this agreement and consider further regulation or antitrust litigation against the telecom industry.
