Investigate Microsoft For Continued Anti-Competitive Practices Against Linux,GNU,Free Software, and Version 3 of the GPL.

Created by M.D. on December 16, 2012

Microsoft continues to block competition by fostering confusion in the PC marketplace.

One version of Windows 8 blocks the owner of a computer from installing a competing operating system such as GNU/Linux. A second similar-looking version of Windows 8 has the capability to block alternate OSs, but this capability is disabled by default. This leaves the consumer in a state of doubt: will I be able to wipe Windows off and install a different operating system or not?

Microsoft utilizes fear, uncertainty, and doubt to intentionally circumvent the Department of Justice ruling against it from 2001. The consumer is left feeling that Microsoft products are the only viable choice.
