Investigate nbme and ecfmg step 2cs testing and grading practices

Created by N.K. on January 30, 2014

This is for fair treatment of medical students. There have been an increase in the number of fail rates for the step 2cs and those that are affected are intelligent medical students that put in insurmountable amount of time, effort, and money to study for an exam that has a very subjective means of scoring. The exam has three parts to it as far.as.the grading scheme. It tests how well a student speaks english, how well the student gathers and interprets the data and finally how well the students explains the information/assessment and empathizes with the patients. Students are evaluated by so called "trained" actors to address whether they can deliver information correctly with these "patients" and empathize with them.
This subjective nature to the grading and it must be challenged.
