Several employees of the FCC were previously employed/associated with telecom companies. This is a severe conflict of interest in the ongoing battle to maintain net neutrality.
We (citizens of The United States of America with no financial interest in telecom companies) wish to maintain true net neutrality. We feel it is unfair for former Comcast and Verizon employees/lobbyists to have such direct and powerful influence in the decision-making process and creation of net neutrality regulations.
Examples:
Ajit Pai, FCC Comissioner. Former Associate General Counsel at Verizon.
Daniel Alvarez, legal adviser to FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler. Represented Comcast through law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Wrote a letter (with a top Comcast lobbyist) to the FCC protesting net neutrality.
