The 1799 Logan Act forbids citizens of the United States from communicating with foreign governments engaged in a dispute with the US without permission from the US government. At the moment, Donald Trump is the presumptive President-Elect of the United States, but does not yet represent the United States in foreign affairs or clear his communications with the government. He has, several times, communicated with governments that are in dispute with the US, notably Taiwan and Pakistan, causing diplomatic incidents each time.
As such, we the people request that the President direct the Attorney General to begin an investigation into these possible violations of the Logan Act by Donald J. Trump.
