investigate the potential for using thermonuclear weapons to terraform Mars.

Created by S.B. on September 10, 2015

The United States of America has always led the world in space exploration, has been a pioneer in nuclear nonproliferation, and stands as a beacon for humanity in matters that unite all people. Given this unique position, as well as the United State's large nuclear weapons stockpiles, it is our belief that these weapons should be put to a use that benefits humanity.

Thus we call upon the administration to investigate the possibility of using nuclear weapons to begin the process of terraforming Mars. The polar ice caps of mars are full of carbon dioxide, which could be released into the atmosphere by large enough explosions, forming the building blocks of an inhabitable Mars.

This may be the most cost-effective method for jump-starting the Martian atmosphere and inspiring humanity.
