I suffer from major depression and needed to go into the hospital this past February for help. During my treatment that I was receiving I felt the treatment being proposed wasn’t medically necessary for my diagnosis, such as use of unnecessary anti-psychotic medications, Electroshock therapy, I:I supervision and unnecessary contracts that I was forced to follow. Due to myself rejecting these proposed treatments, my attending psychiatrist at the time created false documentation about my state of mind which then the court heard and saw, then decided it was in my best interest to forcibly medicate me and remand me back to the hospital against my will. I believe I was competent enough to understand that I suffer from a mental illness and that the proposed treatment was not in my best interest.
