Health insurance companies and vendors charge some pretty outlandish amounts of money for some services and equipment for all people, especially the disabled. A lot of these costs are supposedly written off as the cost of research & development, but a lot of these costs are extremely out of control. Regulating what can be rightfully charged for some of these services & equipment will help with the budget and taxes as a lot of the costs for the disabled come from taxpayer dollars in the form of state and/or federal insurance benefits. The formula of the "$600 wrench" is one of the main reasons healthcare benefits for the elderly & disabled are in trouble, and the reimbursement amount that some insurance companies get defies logic.
