During an interview after the the 2014 State of the Union Rep. Michael Grimm threatened to kill a NY1 reporter Mike Scotto while acting as a member of the press.
Rep. Grimm is a licensed attorney and former U.S. Marine. As this act was committed in DC, this is a misdemeanor under DC Law "Whoever unlawfully assaults, or threatens another in a menacing manner." 22-204(a)1).
As Rep. Grimm is unable to conduct himself in a professional manner as an attorney, a Rep. of the House, and as a former Marine.
As an member of the House, as an attorney, and as a former U.S. Marine his conduct is far from what should be expected of the office's he holds.
We call on President Obama to ask the US Attorney's Office of DC to investigate and bring a charge for simple assault against Rep. Grimm.
