Ethan Couch, a teenager from Texas, received a 10 year probation sentence after running over and killing four individuals fixing a tire on the side of the road. Couch, who had three times the legal alcohol limit for adults in his blood, was driving at 70 miles per hours in a 45 miles per hour zone. Couch was sentenced by a judge to ten years probation. The defense argued that Couch should not be sentenced to jail due to having Affluenza, a condition, according to a psychologist, in which kids from rich families who are never properly disciplined are unable to understand that actions have consequences. Couch, who killed four people, will never serve a single day in jail. This is a slap in the face of the justice system where everyone regardless of their background should be treated equally.
