A group of concerned citizens calls on the President to direct the Department of Justice to investigate the Sherriffs' Offices of Manitowoc County and Calumet County, Wisconsin, and to investigate the Calumet County Court for evidence of corruption, mishandling of evidence, coercion and denial of human rights surrounding the murder of Theresa Halbach.
We believe that Brendan Dassey was coerced by Calumet County detectives into signing a confession for crimes he never committed by exploiting his fear and developmental disabilities.
We believe that Manitowoc County and Calumet County Sherriffs mishandled and planted evidence during a search of Avery's Salvage Yard and his trailer, where Ms. Halbach's car and body were found. We believe this was done to implicate Mr. Avery in the murder.
