During the presidential campaign, Donald Trump explained he would turn management of his businesses over to his grown children, and remain unaware of these business dealings . He has now named these children as part of his presidential transition team. Because of Trump's wide ranging and international business dealings, conflicts are likely. In addition, Trump has provided no insight into the sources of his income, because he has withheld his income tax returns. The American people need to be assured that the Presidency isn't being actively compromised, or at risk, due to business conflicts of interest. Congress must call for an independent prosecutor to investigate and resolve any potential conflicts of interest, so that American security and economic interests are preserved.
