We need to investigate the U.S. Department of Energy's, "Energy Information Agency" for trying to manipulate the retail price of gasoline by releasing false numbers in the their weekly reports. We know that in 2008, Secretary of Energy, Stephen Chu was quoted saying that "somehow we have to figure a way to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe". Mr. Chu went on to say in the summer of 2012 that the, "Administration is not concerned with the price of gasoline". Going on Mr. Chu stated, "because it (the high price of gas) will further develop the use of alternative fuels." Being that Mr. Chu was the leader of the Energy Department, he had free reign over its Energy Information Agency that releases weekly reports of the domestic oil and refined gasoline supplies.
