investigate the voter suppression efforts, from funding to laws to long lines, for violation of US civil rights laws

Created by P.A. on November 13, 2012

Voting is a civil right. It is a federal crime to interfere, or conspire to interfere, with the exercise or enjoyment of US citizens' civil rights, including acts by public officials acting "under color of law". During the past 2 years, 38 laws purporting to prevent "voter fraud", reducing early voting times, reducing the number of precincts, long voting lines and public officials' refusal to take remedial action, mailing the wrong election dates, purging election rolls and direct intimidation, along with several admissions about the partisan political purpose behind them, strongly suggest a large conspiracy to interfere with the civil rights of millions of Americans.
The petition demands the Justice Department investigate these actions and co-conspirators and bring charges.
