Walden University was the number 1 recipient of graduate-student loan dollars taken out in the 2013-2014 academic year. At $756,336,024 million dollars, Walden received almost 2 times as much money as the 3rd largest recipient: the University of Phoenix; which, its parent company, Apollo Education Group, announced on July 29, 2015 that it is under federal investigation for possible deceptive or unfair business practices. Practices that have lead to the 44% default rate of for-profit universities. Hold Walden accountable for its default rates, not the students it has deceived.
