Every year, we have billions of gallons of water passing out of the environment and onto store shelves and into soda machines, and into water dispensers. Access to clean water should be lauded; the concern of this petition is that it may be causing a dearth of water in the environment. The creator of the petition wants to know if we are over-saturating store shelves in exchange for ecosystems that rely on regular rainfall. With drought conditions having become statewide in California for example, it seems like a valid concern and so, we are asking for a full-on scientific examination of the dangers to the environment created by the bottled water industry.
