In states such as New York and Illinois people are being held for years in jail just waiting for a trial. In New York alone there are 1500 people who have waited for at least year to get a trial while still being incarcerated.In Illinois there are poor criminal defendants who are being held in detention simply because they cannot make bail. Waiting years to get a trial is unconstitutional and should not happen in America.
