From 1789 through 2009, the swearing-in of the incoming president has been administered by 15 Chief Justices, one Associate Justice, three federal judges, two New York state judges, and one notary public, therefore, there is precedent for someone other than the Chief Justice administering the oath.
Whereas, females constituted the majority of our population and Spanish-heritaged persons are the fastest growing community in the United States; and contributed overwhelmingly to the President's re-election, I submit that Associate Justice Sonia M. Sotomayor be invited by President Obama to administer his public oath on January 21, 2013.
