invite Thomas Pynchon to the White House.

Created by M.K. on June 01, 2015

To fulfill his--and his country's--promise, President Obama must invite Thomas Pynchon to the White House.

One of America's greatest novelists, Pynchon is an inspiration to thousands of readers, balloonists, and stoned private investigators. The president has always honored America's cultural figures, and no one is more deserving of his commendation than Pynchon. Also, if Pynchon meets the President, maybe the President will tell us about it some time. (We really want to know whether Pynchon is a cool dude to hang out with. He probably is.)

The President could make no greater tribute to American literary culture than hanging out with Thomas Pynchon in the Oval Office, talking about basketball with him, and going bowling together in the White House basement. It is his moral obligation.
