invite Wayne Lapierre to participate in a televised town-hall discussion with the President over the Second Amendment

Seventy-four school shootings after Sandy Hook, President Obama should take the lead from the NRA and its primary spokesman by inviting Wayne Lapierre to defend the NRA's views and his own statements of record against rational discussion beginning with actual Second Amendment cases interpreting the Amendment. Mr. Lapierre should be asked to make realistic proposals on limiting licensing to responsible citizens, increasing background checks, and similar license. The NRA's funding should be discussed in this public forum. It is time for the White House to be willing to tackle this issue in a direct and honest way, showing personal initiative.
