HR 218 requires law enforcement officers to carry ID cards that identify them as law enforcement in order to carry concealed weapons off duty for personal protection. Military Police do not have ID cards specifically identifying them as law enforcement. In order to be compliant with HR 218, MPs would require additional identification.
