Issue an apology on behalf of the The United States of America for the Mexican Repatriation of the 1930's.

Created by E.M. on March 27, 2014

I am submitting a petition for the President of the United states to issue a formal apology for the Mexican Repatriation act of the 1930s. I request an apology act similar to Senate Bill 670 of California. This Bill enacted the Apology Act for the 1930s Mexican Repatriation program and made findings and declarations regarding the unconstitutional removal and coerced emigration of United States citizens and legal residents of Mexican descent, between the years 1929 to 1944, to Mexico from the United States during the 1930's Mexican Repatriation program. It is estimated that more than two million people of Mexican ancestry were forcibly relocated to Mexico, approximately 1.2 million of whom had been born in the United States. This program was authorized by the White House.
