In recent months, we have seen mass shootings, threats of war from North Korea, an ever unstable economy, and a terror attack in Boston. Now more than ever, U.S. citizens need the protection of the government. That is why it is your duty to issue semi-automatic, AR-15 style rifles to every consenting law-abiding citizen of 18 years or older. The cost would be a drop in the bucket of what you spend every year. The effects can only be positive, because any law-abiding citizen is, by definition, righteous in the eyes of the state and utterly innocent of any crime. A large percentage of the population is receiving government welfare assistance. It is your duty to give the poor the tools necessary to protect themselves.
