We the members of the Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal Alliance do hereby Petition for the issuance of the Congressional Gold Medal to the members living and dead of the that distinguished/segregated unit. During the Korean War and while being deprived of their first amendment rights in Puerto Rico served with distinction as evidenced by statements by no less than General Douglas MCarthur. That they at all times upheld the finest traditions of the U.S. Armed forces even while undersupplied, under supported and poorly led. That the court martials involving Jackson heights in Korea for which they so nobly gave their last full measure of devotion was prejudicially decided against them as evidenced by the 3rd Inf. refusal to take that same hill 30 days later and not being court martialed
