Under pressure from chemical industry special interest groups, the Office of Management and Budget has withheld publication of an EPA report, The report, entitled "America’s Children and the Environment, Third Edition," describes the harmful effects of pollution on the health of children.
The industry claims they have studies that provide evidence to the contrary, though many of those "studies" were in fact funded by the industry.
The right thing to do is to allow the report to be published, and to allow industry responses to be published. Nobody gains by suppressing the report - except perhaps a few self-serving special interest groups. There is nothing at all American in their approach, and for OMB to cave to them is reprehensible.
