Issue an exec. order requiring presidential elections to have at least one debate combining major and minor candidates.

Created by J.F. on October 05, 2012

The Democratic and Republican parties have coordinated with the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) to establish standards for debates during presidential elections.

The standards set forth by the CPD for a candidate to be included in a presidential debate is three-fold: (1) be constitutionally eligible, (2) appear on enough ballots to potentially reach 270 electoral votes, and (3) average at least 15% on five selected national polls. These standards typically prevent 3rd parties from inclusion in the national discussion.

We petition the president to use his power and influence to direct the CPD to hold at least one debate during all future presidential elections in which only the first two criteria are required.

3rd parties deserve a stronger voice. Please help them.
