With the VA's new medical study denying the use of service dogs for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, the VA has turned its back on our warriors that suffer from the 'invisible' injuries of our conflicts - past and present.
This petition needs to press the President to issue an executive order to authorize the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to perform a NON-BIAS, full study of the effects of a service companion in mitigating the symptoms of PTSD and TBI, and allow for the said prescription thereof as an approved method of treatment.
Veterans, no matter the injury - be it physical or psychological - should NOT be denied ANY form of helpful treatment that will allow them to transition back into civilian life, or enjoy an increasing quality of life.
