Issue an executive order requiring the Department of Defense to award a Cold War Service Medal to the veterans of the United States Cold War military from September 2, 1945 to December 26, 1991. The Armed Forces of the United States defended America and it's allies interest against the aggressive intentions of the Soviet Union during this period. From the world's waterways and air spaces, Western Europe including Berlin, the Middle East, Southeast and West Asia, Africa, Central and South America including the Caribbean, and the Alaska Frontier. For 46 years the military prepared for the threat of a nuclear attack in Europe. It has been almost 24 years since the Cold War ended and the veterans still haven't been honored as other war veterans in past wars have been by a grateful nation.
