We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Issue an executive order to ban the sale of guns until both houses of congress enact legislation to address gun violence

Created by E.L. on June 13, 2016

Congress has failed to act on gun violence since the murder of 20 children and 6 adults at Sandy Hook. Since that time there have been nearly 1000 mass shooting events. Since 2013 there have been 188 shootings at schools. Per the CDC there are over 21,000 suicides completed with firearms. In 2016 alone there have been nearly 6000 deaths due to fire arms with 254 children under 11 and over 1200 teens killed or injured. Since 2015 there have been five major terrorist attacks in Europe killing 195 people, and four attacks in the US killing 68 people. Although we respect the rights of the majority of gun owners who behave responsibly, it is past time for our representatives to act and address gun violence as it effects mental illness, children and schools, and acts of terrorism.
