Photo-sharing social media site Instagram will change their privacy policy as of January 1, 2013. Under the new policy, parent company Facebook Inc. will claim the perpetual right to license all public Instagram photos to companies or any other organization, including for advertising purposes, with no payment or notification to the Instagram user.
To protect the consumer rights of over 7 million users, this petition asks the Obama Administration to issue an executive order banning both Instagram and Facebook from claiming rights to and/or selling users' personal photos through the Instagram app.
