Currently, many high-level politicians are seeking to enact stiffing restrictions upon the Second Amendment of the Constitution in response to the recent tragedy in Newtown, CT and other shootings in recent memory. While tragic, these actions were done by a small minority of individuals and do not represent the overall picture of the American people.
By attempting to restrict law-abiding citizen gun rights, these elected officials are punishing the majority for the actions of a minority of non-law-abiding Americans. These officials are therefore not representing the voters who elected them, and should resign for refusing to do their jobs in a manner satisfactory to the overall American population.
