Let's demand that South Carolina join this century.
At its core, the Confederate flag is a symbol of sedition and subversion. Over the years it has evolved into a symbol of bigotry and intolerance. Yet, American society is progressing to be one of inclusiveness and acceptance. We may disagree about when police should use lethal force and if affirmative action is a good thing. However, this issue is an easy one. The Confederate flag may be about heritage. But it is certainly not a heritage anyone should be proud of.
