On November 3, 2015, Twitter announced in a blog post that it is "changing our star icon for favorites to a heart and we’ll be calling them likes."
Twitter failed to recognize that just because a user favorites something doesn't mean they like it or 'heart it.' They may even be favoriting out of spite. Some users Tweet in a professional capacity, and "liking" something leaves too much open for misinterpretation, as opposed to "favoriting," which was well understood to not be an endorsement.
By signing this petition, we call on the White House to use any authority and influence it possesses as needed to compel Twitter to reverse this terrible change.
