In an effort to raise public awareness that each day there are more than a dozen gun deaths in America and that we need to take action and pass meaningful legislation to reduce the danger to our families.
My petition asks the President to issue an executive order to fly the American flag at half staff until such time as meaningful legislation is passed into law.
This will provide a visible reminder to all Americans that each day there is the equivalent of a mass murder in America from guns.
These laws could include:
Mental health system improvements
Taxes on guns and/or ammo
Assault weapons ban
Ammo magazine size restrictions
Adequate funding for gun checks
Remove "gun show" exclusions
Require gun owners to own and use gun safes
