Issue an executive order to fund the construction of a Space Elevator by NASA in a time frame of 10 years.

A space elevator program would be on par to the space shuttle program and it will bring economic and scientific benefits that will surpass ten-fold its costs. It is a necessity for this country to be back in the edge of space exploration and in the development of new technologies. This project will lead to the development of jobs and industries that are now unknown. The calculated cost of a project this size is estimated to be $40 billions. A project that only a great nation like America can achieve, and the benefits of it will surpass that of any stimulus the government can devise. A project of this size will bring prestige to the country and will make people feel proud of such accomplishment.
