This petition would allow the federal government to issue a formal process for undocumented individuals to seek legal residency. Not only will this stop the exorbitant costs associated with identifying, jailing, prosecuting, and deporting undocumented peoples in the country, but it will also spur economic activity as more and more people will come out of the shadows and become tax-paying, unafraid consumers, legal entrepreneurs, and contributing members to society. If there is an Executive Order legalizing all undocumented individuals that have not committed violent crimes, not only will the economy increase its GDP, but it will also alleviate the intense suffering that most undocumented families are currently experiencing.
