When employees don't do their job well, they either get fired or get a pay dock. Since the only way we can "fire" members of Congress is to elect someone different, this should be the People's way of reprimanding Congress.
We are tired of the bickering. We are tired of the partisanship politics. Most of all, we are sick and tired of being sick and tired with Congress. The lowest wage any one of them is paid is $174,000. Multiply that by the 535 members, and you get $93,090,000. That's not counting the salary of the house speaker or the majority and minority leaders. We are paying them nearly 100 million dollars right now.
I for one do not want to furnish the ridiculous wages of those who so easily and wantonly furloughed about 800,000 men and women who actually do their job.
