Veterans who suffer from PTSD have reported significant relief from the immediacy and degree of their symptoms when using cannabis. Current laws and regulations make publishing a peer reviewed study of this drug's effect *impossible* so this potentially life-saving medicine is prohibited to those that need it most. If cannabis is made a schedule II drug, doctors could research it and compassionate use would be immediately allowed to relieve these symptoms among veterans who now are forced to use only opioid cocktails for this purpose to much less effect and with debilitating side effects. Cannabis has no such negative side effects and a greater efficacy in this kind of pain relief. Until this categorization is changed, many vets have two choices: Live as an opioid addict or break the law.
