The constant, partisan bickering about immigration policy has gone on long enough. Immigrants are villainized and degraded by those who understand them least when good policy would dictate that anyone who wants to live in and support this country should be allowed to do so.
While the Executive Order should be used sparingly, it can cut through a lot of red tape and solve important issues such as this one. A complete redaction of our hampering immigration policies would simplify the debate on both sides and allow for the children stranded at the border now to assume a decent quality of life immediately. Legislation supporting better, more relaxed immigration standards could follow soon after. We must change our attitude on this issue; this is not who we, as a country, are.
