Issue an Executive Order to protect student and "Occupy" Protesters, and commence negotiations between opposition groups

Created by A.R. on November 19, 2011

Right now, students and nonviolent protesters in America's growing Occupy Movement are being sprayed with pepper spray by police, and police violence towards these groups is quickly escalating. President Obama must issue an Executive Order stating that the U.S. Government supports and defends all Americans' Constitutional right to assembly; and that the U.S. Government finds it unlawful and unconscionable to allow public or private police forces to use forceful and explicitly violent tactics to oppose peaceful protesters. Furthermore, the Obama Administration should commence mediated discussions between a delegation of students and the U.S. Department of Education, as well as negotiations between a qualified delegation of Occupy Movement leaders and the Securities Exchange Commission.
