Issue an executive order reducing the annual pay of federal representatives and senators by 20% effective immediately

I believe that reducing the annual pay for members of the federal House of Representatives and Senate will free up funds for our government to put to better use. While this adds up to a small number in retrospect, it is significant to every American citizen. I believe that our elected officials, appointed by us, need to have better structured priorities and need to remember that they are in office to be a voice for the people in their congressional districts, not a voice of their own with their own intentions and agendas put before those of whom they represent. This is not a petition to give congress a slap on the wrist, but to make sure that while Americans receive pay cuts in the form of more taxes, our representatives do not get to plateau or gain from our loss.
