The current immunization schedule is based on sound epidemiology and science. It is designed to maximize the number of immunized children and adults in order to prevent outbreaks of communicable diseases. The current outbreak associated with Disneyland has shown that personal belief and religious exemptions to immunization have degraded the level of community immunity (herd immunity) against measles. Other diseases like whooping cough and mumps are also making a comeback.
We request the President of the United States to issue an Executive Order requiring full immunizations -- with only medical exemptions -- of all federal employees, students receiving federal financial aid, and anyone else receiving federal aid of any kind. No shots, no federal tax money.
