Paid maternity leave is critical to the health, growth and security of American families. This is especially important now as the percentage of working women in American continues to grow. Households generally, and women in particular, should not be forced to choose between having a family on the one hand and maintaining a career and financial security on the other.
The President needs to take the lead on this issue as he has done on minimum wage.
